The Movie Paradise
Woot, woot! (I love this even though I don't know where I took it from) It's time for improving my English and to tell the rest of the Earth or those who read this blog how boring my life actually is these days. Nevertheless I have plenty of time to watch movies, to read, to sleep and to spend almost whole day in the pool. No talking about the sun. I'm starting to feel like a toast. I don't know if I repeat myself 'cause two blogs - czech one and english one - are a bit hard to write and not to repeat yourself. Though, I'm in the seventh heaven when I write something so it doesn't bother me much anyways. As I wrote few lines above I'm watching movies. Many movies. Here is list of the movies I've downloaded and I've seen in two past days:
1. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
1. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
- actually I didn't download it, it did my brother few weeks ago but he didn't tell me a word about having it. It's one of those movies you hear about everywhere around you, you want to see it but in few moments/days/weeks you completely forget about it. I was accidentaly browsing through Jessica's profile and I've seen it there many times before in her movie list to be honest but I never managed to get it somewhere. This time I immediately downloaded it and watched it. Awsome movie, indeed, as I wrote in one of previous posts. btw: did you know that Milos Forman is a CZECH director? :P
2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
- when I heard about this movie for the first time I was like: "Hey, Jim Carrey is playing in it? GREAT! Serious role? Come one guys, give me a break, he can't play serious roles." Ok, I admit it, I was terribly wrong. He was such as good as in the comedies he had been in before. And he even looks really handsome in this movie - and it's not obvious in his case. (sorry Jimmy :X) I really like the point of this movie - you can't erase someone's presence from your memories. It can't be done even though you would give a whole world to do it. Every person you meet immediately becomes the part of your life - smaller one or bigger, it doesn't matter. And even if you have bad memories or experiences with someone there are always those good things which you had lived through together.
3. The Godfather part I (1972)
- since my childhood I'm in love with gangster movies, retro America in the times of prohibition, italian mafian's gangs and things like that. It was just the matter of time when I get to the book The Godfather and than to the movie. I read the book few months ago and I was so delighted by it that I gave a task to myself to get the movie, the best option - all three movies from The Godfather trilogy. I've got the first one, two more to go. The movie is almost exact copy of Mario Puzo's book and I can't wait to watch the other two movies. By the way, I didn't get good czech subtitles for it so I had to watch it without them! It was terrible because some of guys' speeches didn't have anything in common with any English dialect I've ever met nor with English, I guess.
4. Memento (2000)
- another movie I've always wanted to see. Here in CR exists one book written by Radek John called Memento, too. I've always though that it contains the same story but, well, obviously it does not just for the reason that in movie there's a man who has no short-term memory and he's searching for the killer of his wife and book is about drug addict and his screwed up life. Diametrical difference, eh? I wouldn't write much about this movie because you just have to see it. The style how it's been filmed is exactly what I like - the first event in the story is uncovered in the end of the movie with very shocking discovery. Go and see it.
5. Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (2005)

5. Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (2005)
- I should tell you the first - I'm really big one of Tim Burton's movies and his art. I guess I've seen majority of those famous block busters such as Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Batman Returns, Batman, Mars Attacks!, Sleepy Hollow and now Corpse Bride. His movies are maybe freaky, dark, perverse and definitely not for kids but I love his graphic and art figuration of scenes and charachters in his movies. I mean their costumes, the scenery and stuff like that. To be honest Corpse Bride is the most perverse movie which I've seen and which was made by him. Even Beetlejuice was a bit normal.
I guess these are all the movies I've seen recently. I'm searching for more to watch but I have no idea what I should go for. Any ideas?
Till next post...

Hey Leni,
Eternal Sunshine and Memento are two of the greatest movies made after the year 2000. I love both of them.
If you want some more suggestions, look for the movie version of the musical "Rent". I just watched it today, and it's great. I'll think of some more and suggest them...that was the one that just popped into my head right now.
Jeffy, you're absolutely right. I love them both, too. It's pitty, though, that after year 2000 not so many good or even great movies are made.
Ok, I will try it. I'm just checking it on imdb.com and it seems pretty good. thanks :)
One Flew OVer the Cuckoo's Nest is actually in the "Favourite Books" section of my profile... The movie is pretty good, but the book is much better... If you're a reader, then check it out. It actually took me a while to get into and start to enjoy, but by the time I was finished it had made it's way onto that favourites list!
aha, my fault but nevermind :) thanks, I wil read it for sure.
